Our Story

Tedio is a Portuguese word for “boredom.” It was born out of observing the need to protect children from malicious algorithms that prey on kids’ peace of mind–their “boredom”–by endlessly stimulating their brains with junk content. Reminding that boredom is where children's creativity begins, Tedio is set to create a shield that protects this precious peace of mind from the toxic infrastructure that targets children.

Meet the Founder

Dakyum Breanna Lee

As a student at Northwestern University, award-winning filmmaker, and children’s book author, Dakyum witnessed firsthand the profound impact of media on children’s development. Dakyum’s passion for preserving children’s dreams shows in her children's book Wings, which has donated over 300 copies to shelters. With her deep experience and interest in children’s media, she founded Tedio to protect children’s digital experiences and empower parents.
